Overview

Always dreamed about swimming with Whale Sharks? If you’re in Djibouti during the Whale Shark season (October – February) than use this opportunity to swim with the biggest fish in the world. These huge animals feed almost exclusively on plankton and small fishes, and pose no threat to humans.  During this 1 Day Tour you will have the opportunity to swim or snorkle with these giants. Note that these sea tours are performed by certified diving schools. This tour can also be combined with our Djibouti land tours.

Itinerary

Day 1: Djibouti City Fishing Point – Ras Korali – Djibouti City

Departure is from the Fishing Point in Djibouti where you’ll head to Ras Korali to encounter with Whale Sharks. You can swim and snorkel for 45-60 minutes with these huge creatures. On the boat there is lunch and snorkel/diving equipment. At the end of the day we head back to Djibouti City fishing point.

Note:
– Please note that Whale Sharks are wild animals and the diving schools cannot guarantee seeing them even during the peak season.
– The Regular Trips are with the big boats and are only guaranteed if the min number of passengers is met.

Currency The national currency is the Djibouti Franc (DFr). 1 USD is around 178.000 DFr. There are enough ATM machines in the country. It is also very easy and fast to send money through the many remittance/money transfer companies. Exchanging your money can in every corner of street. The US Dollar is widely accepted for purchasing goods. Credit card is however not widely accepted.
